Becky, I’ve used this way of texting my kids for a long time and try to tell other non-techy parents about it all the time. Thanks for the post! Also, since I don’t have a blackberry, but can receive text messages on my cell phone, I leave my text address on my “out-of-office assistant.”

Great tip fat fingers! Chris/husband has been after me to start texting and I think this is a method whereby I can comply. I think us old folks are always near a computer. The nimble fingered set are the ones on the move.

This is also great information to have when you’re wanting to set up txt alerts like for flight alerts. I had a hard time finding this the other day!!! Thanks Becky!!!

I just learned about this trick and when they reply back to me it comes in on my Email ….which helps old eyes read easier too!
