Is anyone using webcams as a form of staying connected? I’ve actually played around with them a bit. In fact, I used one for a meeting last week. It definitely made a difference being able to see the person I was speaking to. Really made us feel more connected.
On my Mac, the camera is built in, which is fabulous. I’m thinking of purchasing one for my PC. Some of them come with software to add all kinds of fun effects. As we see people travel less for business and pleasure, I wonder if webcams and videoconferencing will be used more? What do you think?

People are using webcams for all sorts of interesting things…yesterday there was a news story about a woman whose home had been burglarized, so she had an alarm system and webcam installed. She could monitor the webcam from any (just about) computer. She “had a feeling something was amiss” while at work and checked her webcam and caught two burglars in the act of randsacking her home. Called police and watched police arrest them in her home.
