Thank goodness for Internet in my pocket. I was having a dinner at my house and one recipe called for mascarpone. Well, let’s just say, I left the house before reading the recipe and once I was in the store looking at the items I needed, I realized I had no idea what mascarpone was! Crazy thing is, it’s not like I don’t cook (although I’ll be the first to admit I cook MUCH less these days) and I’m Italian, but I really wasn’t sure what it was.
I felt silly asking a grocery store employee because I felt I should have known what it was, but I also did not want to drive back home to jump online and figure it out. Then it dawns on me, I have the Internet in my pocket (aka, my smartphone)! I pull out my phone, pull up the Internet and search “mascarpone.” Bam! Done. I knew exactly what I was looking for. I had a description of the product and a picture to go with it. And for those of you wondering, here’s a link.
Internet in my pocket saved the day. Has your device ever saved you a trip to the computer?

Yes! Tonight, in fact. I whipped out my handy, dandy iPhone whilst at Publix because I had a hankering for a turkey meatloaf(of all things). What made me feel better? I didn’t have to kill a tree by taking the old skool route and printing the recipe before leaving the office even if I had decided what was on the menu. What did I do before smart phones?
